Job summary

Infraspec seeks a seasoned Commercial Lead to drive contract and scope management across complex projects. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting while guiding subcontract negotiations and cost control in a live operational environment.

Ideal candidates will have NEC3/NEC4 experience, strong risk management, and a track record of mentoring teams within a commercial group. Hybrid working, with two days in the office, is offered.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years managing NEC3/NEC4 Main Contracts with multiple subcontracts.
• Experience delivering projects in live operational environments, airport projects preferred.
• Strong track record in contractual risk, change management and dispute resolution.
• Cost management experience on complex projects generating £10m+ p.a.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting, cashflow and payment application skills.
• Excellent negotiation, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional body membership (RICS, CIOB or ACostE) preferred.

Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate:

A strong, self-driven leader with high attention to detail and strong organisational skills, who thrives on seeing challenging, complex and technical projects through to conclusion.

Key Accountabilities:

Commercial Management

• Protect commercial interests through effective contract and scope management with customers and subcontractors.
• Manage contractual adherence: notices, variations, compensation events, disputes and final accounts.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risk across the project lifecycle.
• Lead tendering, procurement and negotiation for subcontract packages and commercial settlements.
• Build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Cost Management

• Own project budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, working closely with the Project Manager.
• Manage cashflow forecasts, billing plans and payment applications.
• Monitor performance against budget, flagging risks and opportunities.
• Value and cost-assess project changes, compensation events and variations.
• Drive forecasting accuracy and cost control across the project team.

Leadership

• Improve commercial and cost management processes and best practice.
• Mentor and develop the wider Commercial & Cost Management team.

Role Qualifications & Skills:
