The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Commercial Manager?

  • Lead and provide commercial input for major tenders, prepare quotations, negotiate terms, draft contractual agreements, and manage contracts through to successful completion.
  • Partner with business development teams during bid and proposal stages to ensure all commercial and contractual aspects are reviewed, drafted, and submitted effectively.
  • Identify and communicate contract terms that present significant risk, advising senior management on appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Lead negotiations with customers and partners during bid, award, and project execution phases.
  • Advise the Supply Chain Team on contract condition flow-down to sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Draft, prepare, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs and ad-hoc contracts.
  • Act as the go-to point for all commercial or legal queries within the business.
  • Play an active role in cross-functional project teams, ensuring programmes are delivered compliantly and cost-effectively.
  • Manage customer relationships and communication for a range of UK and international contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, export controls, and intellectual property protection/licensing.
