We have an amazing opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our APT Skidata team, based in Hemel Hempstead. In this role, you will effectively review contracts and commercial documents in a timely manner, offering professional opinions. Your responsibilities will include enhancing focus, details, and recording of quotations and tenders, delivering commercial support solutions to the business, and ensuring requests for information from the Sales Team/clients are answered promptly for all bid responses. You will also provide support for the Sales Team and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log enquiries
- Liaise with Sales Team
- Negotiate contracts with customers and suppliers respecting the business's terms, safety, lead-time, cost, and quality objectives
- Coordinate enquiry, order, and project reviews
- Deliver savings and performance improvements
- Document special project requirements and collaborate across all project aspects, especially on technical issues
- Ensure the Sales Team has relevant, up-to-date documentation to support client discussions, including terms and conditions
- Assist in designing new systems with the Sales Team to ensure effectiveness
- Ensure system delivery aligns with customer specifications
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to meet their needs and expectations
Your Profile
Essential
- Proven experience in a commercial, sales, or procurement role
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills
- Experience in contracts management, including negotiation, drafting, and ongoing management
- Ability to handle a variety of commodities across technical, IT, networks, construction, civil works, and manufacturing sectors
- Educational qualification at degree level or equivalent, preferably in sourcing, supply chain, or related fields
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of internal and external contacts
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationally, including overnight stays
Desirable
- Experience with contracts involving FTS and industry-standard agreements
- Membership of a recognized sales or purchasing association
