Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team within our busy Tower Hamlets office. As our Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to our projects. Your focus is to minimise project costs and enhance margin and value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. This will include procurement, subcontract management, contract administration, monthly payments, and final account settlement.

About the Quantity Surveyor role...

  • Progressing works through the system on completed works
  • Working on MCM
  • Communicating with the Client
  • Handling queries and incorrect values
  • Managing progression of works
  • Collaborating closely with the GM
  • Working with the Financial and Commercial team
  • Participating in social value activities

Role Criteria:

  • Construction knowledge
  • Previous experience as a quantity surveyor
  • Knowledge of NHF
  • Experience with SOR codes
  • Experience in Repairs and Maintenance
  • Excellent IT, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to assess and analyze information
  • Good business sense and understanding of budget management
  • Negotiating and networking skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to work under pressure within a busy team
  • Strong team working skills
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Willingness to work extra hours to meet deadlines when necessary

All roles require candidates to have entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.

All roles are subject to DBS/Security checks prior to employment.
