About the role of Commercial Manager

Your role as Commercial Manager will be to work on a £120m Life Sciences project as the overall commercial no 1, responsible for the commercial success of the project by managing the up and downstream processes and client side negotiations. You can become a recognised member of a management team. You will work on the project from procurement, managing internal and external cost reporting and including but not limited to the following:

  1. Review and maintain commercial margins to deliver profit
  2. Identify improvements in the commercial processes
  3. Oversee and advise on variations and change control
  4. Complex contracts negotiations
  5. Team recruitment and development
Requirements for Commercial Manager:

The company is looking for a candidate who has strong negotiation and communication skills, is organised, and has high attention to detail. You will come from a Main contractor background with experience managing projects over £100m as the commercial no 1. Be competent in managing client and stakeholder relationships, have a clear understanding of the reporting process, and have strong commercial acumen. You will be highly motivated and ambitious as there is an opportunity to progress your career with the team.

  1. Managed a team of surveyors and been responsible for their development
  2. Strong JCT and NEC contract experience
  3. Construction related degree
  4. Experience commercially leading construction projects over £100m
  5. Ideally knowledge in the pharmaceutical sector
