Job summary

NG Bailey Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive contract performance across NEC3/4 projects from tender to completion. You will lead the Commercial Team, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and ensure frameworks perform at their best.

The role covers cash flow forecasting, subcontract management, invoicing, and monthly project reviews, with a focus on cost-effective, compliant delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage NEC3/4 and bespoke contracts across multiple projects.
• Lead and develop the Commercial Team for timely, high-quality delivery.
• Identify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Oversee supply chain contracts and agreements.
• Provide cash flow forecasts and manage financial performance.
• Establish and manage monthly project reviews.
• Ensure alignment with financial plans and contractual obligations.
• Handle disputes and defects with clients and subcontractors.
• Oversee invoicing, overdue applications and debt collection.
• Prepare BoQ, measurements and valuations for applications and final accounts.

Role Purpose

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our commercial team, guiding us through the complexities of contract management from tender to completion. You'll be the go-to expert for identifying commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring our frameworks perform at their best.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manage NEC3/4 and bespoke contracts across multiple projects.
• Lead and develop the Commercial Team, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Oversee supply chain contracts and agreements.
• Provide accurate cash flow forecasts and manage financial performance.
• Establish and manage monthly project reviews.
• Ensure projects align with financial plans and contractual obligations.
• Handle disputes and defects
• processes with clients and subcontractors.
• Manage invoicing and overdue applications or debts.
• Oversee quotation approvals and ensure contract orders are in place.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQ), measurements, and valuations for applications and final accounts.
• Maintain control of subcontractor accounts and minimize variation costs.
• Develop a monthly senior project review process with the Senior Commercial Manager.
• Assist with pre-tender reviews and attend client progress meetings.
• Communicate effectively across all levels and foster teamwork.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Contribute innovative ideas for continuous improvement and cost-effective solutions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

• Significant experience in managing the commercial performance of projects.
• A strong understanding of various contract forms, especially NEC3/4.
• Proven leadership skills in managing a team.
• Excellent proficiency in, MS

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in Civil Engineering and Construction projects.
• Background in managing volume-based projects.
