Commercial Manager - Rail Infrastructure
Salary: 75,000 - 80,000 + Car/Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Hertfordshire (with travel as required)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing specialist contractor operating within the rail infrastructure sector. This business delivers a range of integrated services across rail, civils, signalling, and safety-critical works - known for their commitment to safe, high-quality delivery and collaborative working with clients and stakeholders across the UK.
As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee all commercial functions across multiple workstreams. The role will be instrumental in managing cost control, contract management, forecasting, and supporting the delivery of commercially successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage commercial operations across multiple projects in rail and infrastructure
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, valuations, and final accounts
  • Provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
  • Manage change control processes and contractual correspondence
  • Work closely with operational teams to drive value and performance
  • Ensure compliance with client frameworks and NEC contract terms
  • Support strategic decision-making and drive commercial best practice

About You:

  • Proven experience in a commercial management role within rail or civil engineering
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and client frameworks
  • Excellent negotiation, cost control, and analytical skills
  • Able to work collaboratively across departments and with clients
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar
