Overview

Commercial Manager - Central London. High end Fit Out/Joinery Contractor

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Manager to take responsibility for managing project budgets and providing commercial support to the Project Manager on a high-profile interior fit-out project in Central London. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in construction or fit-out projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop the project's commercial team.
  • Prepare and oversee project budgets, ensuring targets are met.
  • Procure subcontractors and agree commercial terms and conditions.
  • Manage and control subcontract packages and variations.
  • Produce monthly cost, value, and reconciliation reports for assigned projects.
  • Estimate build-up costs for project elements, including labour and materials, and source quotations where required.
  • Liaise with purchasing or buying teams for specialist services.
  • Attend internal project handover meetings and provide commercial input on ongoing tenders.
  • Provide feedback to the business development team on tender values vs. actual project costs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Provide contractual advice and guidance to the Project Manager.
  • Undertake any additional duties or projects within your experience and competency.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience on new build or fit-out projects and hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline. Strong commercial awareness, leadership, negotiation, and people management skills are essential.
