Commercial Manager Central London
Interiors specialist sub-contractor
Up to £75,000

A leading specialist subcontractor with a reputation built on their expertise and ability to deliver high-quality packages on a wide range of projects are seeking a capable Senior Quantity Surveyor with JCT and NEC contract experience to manage 3 or 4 fire stopping packages in Central London on tier 1 M/C projects. Established for over 15 years with an annual turnover reaching more than £45m in the UK, they have continuing to expand. Ideally you will be ready to run 1 larger project or manage smaller ones, with total control over the commercial aspects.

As a pro-active Commercial Manager, you will be reporting directly to the Commercial Director to ensure successful financial delivery of various fire stopping projects, whilst managing / mentoring a more junior QS. Therefore, your day to day responsibilities will vary from but are not limited to:

  • Updating cost plans
  • Measurements
  • Providing written quotations
  • Negotiating final accounts
  • Meeting clients and Subcontractors
  • Applications for payments
  • Investigate, notify, and substantiate variations

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project or Senior Quantity Surveyor level to move up and join a specialist contractor offering an opportunity to develop, grow and progress organically within the company. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years' + experience, in the construction industry, preferably with an interiors background, either partitions or ceiling or other associated trades, if not directly experienced in Passive Fire Protection. Those who have gained experienced working with main contractors or other subcontractors will be considered if they have demonstrated the ability to perform exceptionally well.

Candidates must be highly motivated, resilient, and determined to 'get things right' to be successful. HND Qualification/Degree in Quantity Surveying is desirable, however, not critical. Whilst a more junior role, the salary will be dependent and a product of experience. The package will include additional benefits which will be negotiable.
