Overview

Job Overview: While working with Mitie, you will act as the Commercial Management lead for three large hospitals in an annual portfolio exceeding £70m with the potential for growth and expansion.

Day to day job objectives will include:

  • Implement and enforce Commercial Policies that ensure entitlements are identified and realised to support achievement of budgetary targets
  • Take control of the procurement process through tendering, developing Scope of Works and specifications, contract order creation and issuance of orders
  • Identify and price changes to contract scope via the contract variation process (capital works and services)
  • Work closely with the operational and administration teams to ensure understanding o the contract requirements, particularly those that affect financial recovery
  • Manage the SLA performance deductions process, managing client audits and implementing actions to mitigate including training/operational awareness.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing commercial support to all other functions on the account
Main Duties

To prepare tender package information to produce information that can be submitted to the market to reduce pricing, compile commercial analysis of returns and to compile order /contract information to allow for contract execution.

  • Variations - To review the scope of work with operations, to price and compile information into standard format to allow for submission to the Employer.
  • To generate notices for submission to the Employer in line with the terms and conditions of the head contract
  • To provide analysis of contractor performance and whether supply chain are undertaking their contractual
  • Lead on Commercial Audits as and when required, from monthly SLA/KPI Audits to Internal Commercial audits, ensuring adequate mitigation is implemented to minimise Mitie's financial liability.
  • To provide pricing support for project work on an as requested basis.
  • To manage approvals in line with the requirements of Mitie corporate governance.
  • Manage lower value contractual claims with the client and/or subcontractors, escalating higher value or complex claims to the Senior Commercial Manager
What we are looking for

The role will be based at a major contract office in London, with hybrid home working available. The candidate must have demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced professional environment and be prepared to travel to other sites predominantly in the South East when required. The key skill requires can be summarised but not limited to the following:

Essential
  • Experience of Commercial Management of contracts, preferably within the FM Market.
  • Customer care/relationship building skills
  • Very strong written skills, allowing for proper submission to the Employer.
  • Ability to take complex issues and translate them for lay persons.
  • Able to effectively time manage, communicate tasks to be undertaken and work to strict deadlines.
  • Be competent in MS Project, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to manage change successfully
Desirable
  • Educated to Degree level qualification in the relevant field
  • Experience in PFI Contracts, particularly within the Healthcare Sector preferable but not essential.
  • [Optional] Desire to work towards Chartered Surveyor status through the RICS or a similar professional qualification
