Commercial Manager – Renewable Energy / Retrofit Projects

UK-wide | £85,000 – £100,000 | Permanent | On-site / Field-based

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking to make a real impact in the UK’s clean energy sector?

We’re working with a fast-growing renewable energy installer delivering large-scale retrofit, solar, and energy-efficiency projects across both domestic and commercial markets.

With thousands of installations completed and a strong reputation for quality, sustainability, and innovation, this business is scaling rapidly — and they’re now looking for a senior commercial professional to join their leadership team.

The Opportunity

In this senior role, you’ll oversee all commercial and contractual functions across a portfolio of energy-efficiency and renewable projects. You’ll lead a team of commercial professionals, manage risk and profitability, and act as the key link between project delivery and senior leadership.

This position suits someone with strong Quantity Surveying expertise who enjoys working in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial oversight of multiple retrofit and renewable projects
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost plans
• Review and negotiate client and subcontractor contracts
• Oversee procurement and supply chain performance
• Handle variations, claims, and dispute resolution
• Provide regular commercial reporting and board-level insight
• Mentor and develop commercial and QS staff
• Drive best practice in risk management and commercial governance

About You

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS in construction, retrofit, or renewables
• Excellent understanding of JCT contracts and contractual risk management
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commercially astute, analytical, and solutions-focused
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (MRICS desirable)
