Job description

Are you looking for a commercially focused management accountant role with an exciting and fast-paced SME based in Harrogate?

Following their most recent acquisition, this high-growth Harrogate-based business is now looking to hire a Commercial Management Accountant into a newly created role within an already established and high-performing commercial finance team.

This role offers a great all-round experience with ownership and exposure to both management accounting and business partnering.

It would be ideally suited to someone who is part or newly qualified (QBE will also be considered), seeking a well-rounded and autonomous, commercially focused finance role in a growing business that offers progression within 12-18 months.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the key duties include:

  1. Ensuring the monthly management accounts, balance sheet lead schedules, and cash flow forecasts are produced and submitted within reporting deadlines.
  2. Reviewing and approving annual operating budgets with the operations team before presentation.
  3. Attending meetings, leading from a finance perspective, and completing any arising actions.
  4. Maintaining financial regulations, standard operating procedures, and controls at all times.
  5. Providing the highest level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Acting as a business partner between finance and other departments to ensure consistent and joined-up ways of working.
  7. Ensuring compliance with statutory returns or accreditation requirements.
  8. Supporting ad-hoc tasks and board reporting.
  9. Working on cost models for new sites and drafting commercial clauses in contracts with new sites.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be part of a fully qualified ACCA/CIMA team, or QBE - Essential.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in preparing or assisting with management accounts - Essential.
  • Have experience in business partnering and managing internal or external stakeholders - Essential.
