Job description

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a high-calibre associate to join its Commercial Litigation and Arbitration team in London.

The role involves a broad range of contentious matters across a variety of sectors, including energy, shipping, international trade, infrastructure, and financial services. The successful candidate will act for a diverse client base, including trading houses, energy companies, financial institutions, and state-owned entities, on high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes. These include litigation and arbitration (under ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and ad hoc rules), trade-related enforcement actions, freezing orders, asset recovery, and matters involving the implications of international sanctions and export controls. The work is highly international and often involves close collaboration with colleagues across key global hubs, including London, Paris, the Middle East, Singapore, and the US.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • England & Wales or other equivalent Common Law qualification
  • 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in high value, multi-jurisdictional disputes
  • A solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and case management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and strong client-facing skills
