Commercial Lead (QS) | Hull, Humberside | Engineering - Heavy Industry

I am delighted to be partnering with a leading engineering and maintenance contractor, with a vast portfolio of customers in the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities and renewables sectors in the UK and beyond. Due to continued, ongoing and sustained growth, they are seeking a Commercial Lead (QS) within their project controls division to be based in Hull, Humberside to service several high profile clients.

What you will need to succeed

The successful candidate will be highly experienced in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Leading and/or Cost Engineering functions. You will have proven experience of cash management, contract governance, cost planning, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.

The role demands a strong background in dealing with commercial issues, and you will have worked with a similar contracting organisation, with relevant sector project experience such as chemical, petrochemical, power generation and similar. You will be qualified to degree level in engineering or commercial qualifications, and membership in a professional institution (e.g. IMechE, IChemE, MRICS) is preferred. Experience with project control software is essential, and SAP would be a distinct advantage. Evidence of dispute resolution is a big bonus too.

You will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex and high-risk scope of work.
