Job summary

eNL Legal in West Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Commercial Lawyer with 5+ years' experience to lead a specialist contracts team. You will advise on complex commercial matters, draft and negotiate high‑level agreements, and influence strategic decisions.

The role requires a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with strong drafting skills, and prior team management experience. Hybrid work arrangement with two days monthly in the office. Salary up to £61,358 DOE.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex and high‑profile commercial matters including contracts, company law, JVs, procurement, construction, information law and TUPE for PFI/PPP projects.
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, advise on risk and dispute resolution, prepare reports for senior decision makers and act as Company Secretary where required.
• Lead, supervise and mentor the Contracts and Commercial team, contribute to strategic projects and deliver training to colleagues and senior stakeholders.

COMMERCIAL LAWYER, 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE, WEST YORKSHIRE/ HYBRID, up to £61,358 DOE. Senior legal opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to lead a specialist team, advise on complex commercial matters and influence strategic decision making. JOB REF: 5874

• The appointed lawyer will manage a caseload of complex and high profile work, advising on commercial contracts, company law, joint ventures, partnerships, procurement, construction, information law, and TUPE, PFI/PPP projects.
• Responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, advising on risk and dispute resolution, preparing reports for senior decision makers and acting as Company Secretary for relevant organisations.
• You will lead, supervise and mentor the Contracts and Commercial team, contribute to strategic projects and deliver training to colleagues and senior stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in commercial law, company law, procurement, information law or related areas.
• Strong technical expertise, excellent drafting and negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex matters independently are essential. Previous team management experience and a proactive, solutions focused approach are also required.
