Overview

Gallagher’s Edinburgh Office is seeking a Schemes Account Handler to join their established team based in the city centre.

This role will primarily be responsible for managing a high volume of scheme-based clients, with the full support of an experienced team. The key relationships are clients, the Appointed Representative (AR), and the insurer.

The primary scheme in the team is our Dentist Medical Malpractice Scheme, established in 2012. It has been a fantastic growth success story, servicing over 5,000 clients annually.

How you'll make an impact

What you can expect:

  • Develop an intimate knowledge of the products and the dental indemnity market.
  • Develop & champion working relationships with underwriters to ensure cover and product meet clients’ needs.
  • Responsibility for placing new policies, processing renewals, and midterm adjustments for all scheme business.
  • Advise clients on their policy cover and discuss other needs they may have.
  • Ensure all customer details are recorded accurately.
  • Deal with a large number of enquiries professionally via phone and email.
  • Work within the insurer’s delegated authority parameters.
  • Handle account queries and credit control matters, highlighting concerns.
  • Apply relevant legal and regulatory policies related to internal policies and insurance contracts.

About You

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident in building and maintaining relationships, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry or in target-driven, regulated customer service environments is advantageous.
  • Risk-aware in handling customer information, customer-centric, focused on optimal outcomes.
  • Due diligence, process-driven, deadline-oriented, results-focused, and proactive in assisting team members.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with client databases.
  • Working towards or holding Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications (Dip CII or FIT) is advantageous.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
