Commercial Gas Engineer (Catering)

Would suit an engineer either in CV, LE, NN postcodes. Salary: £42k plus package.

Below are some common questions about the role:

• Is the salary flexible? The rate is fixed; all engineers are paid the same. Senior engineers and Team Leaders earn more.
• How many hours per week? 40 hours a week, 08:30 – 17:00, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Flexibility and overtime are required.
• Is travel time paid? Yes, door-to-door.
• Standby and payment? Standby varies by region, from 1 in 5 to 1 in 15, with a payment of £175, running Monday to Sunday.
• Overtime rates? X1.5 after 40 hours, Saturday X1.5, Sunday & Bank Holidays X2. Bank Holidays will get a day in lieu.
• Annual leave? 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
• Van for private use? Yes, opt-in and pay private mileage (~12p per mile, depending on government guidelines).
• Area covered? Depends on the region; try to stay within 1.5 hours of home, but some travel may be necessary.
• Main contracts? Contract caterers, schools, hospitals, stadiums, FM companies, banks, hotels, MOD sites.
• Additional requirements? Enhanced DBS clearance.
