Commercial Gas Engineer - Midlands (Mobile Role)
Up to £45,000 (Negotiable) + Paid Travel Time + Overtime + Standby Allowance

We're recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading providers of temporary HVAC hire solutions, supporting mission-critical environments across data centres, healthcare, events, manufacturing, and facilities management. Known for their expert engineering support and fast-reacting fleet, they're now looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their mobile team covering the Midlands region.

The Role

As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you'll play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of temporary heating and HVAC systems, including boilers, plant rooms, and associated gas-fired equipment. This role involves both planned and reactive maintenance, with travel to sites across the region to deliver quick, safe, and effective solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Installation, servicing, and fault-finding on commercial heating systems
• Safe working with gas-fired boilers, pumps, pipework, AHUs, and burners
• Reacting to breakdowns and ensuring rapid return to operation
• Working closely with operations and site teams to meet client expectations
• Ensuring compliance and documentation is completed to the highest standard

What We're Looking For

• Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/1A etc.)
• Strong background in commercial gas maintenance and repair
• Comfortable working on a variety of temporary plant and HVAC systems
• Flexible and self-motivated with good communication skills
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential - mobile role)

F-Gas and electrical experience (17th/18th Edition) desirable but not essential.

• Basic Salary: Up to £45,000 (negotiable for the right person)
• Travel Time: Paid door to door
• Call Out: 1 in 6 rota (£20/day standby + 1.5x if called out)
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x - plenty available
• Hours: 40 per week
• Company Van: With fuel card and private use option
• Holiday: 33 days (including bank holidays)
• Incentives: Bonus scheme + performance incentives
