Job description

JOB TITLE: Commercial Gas Engineer

LOCATIONS: London TFL Estate

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 12 Hour shifts (6am-6pm)

SALARY: £54,000 - £57,000 per annum


ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

To undertake the planned and Reactive duties as directed by the Piped Services Mechanical Supervisor, providing technical support and assistance as required by both the supervisor and wider members of the team as may be necessary to ensure all activities both planned and reactive are completed in line with the contractual SLA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

All Piped Services Mechanical Engineers will have the following duties and accountabilities:

  • Undertake planned maintenance activities and asset servicing to SFG20 standards ensuring all checks and tasks are completed satisfactorily.
  • To carry out mechanical remedial works.
  • To attend and rectify mechanical faults.
  • To carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the company's PPM and task schedules.
  • Undertake PPM activity in a quality, professional manner.
  • Production of technical and situational reports as required.
  • Proactively use the technology systems given to you so that the Company can be always compliant with its contractual obligations.
  • To always communicate clearly and effectively with the rest of the team and clients.
  • Attending team meetings/briefings as always requested.
  • To ensure that the Company is always presented in a good light.
  • To escalate any major site issues or incidents to your line manager asap once noticed.
  • Understand and be aware of the requirements of all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation and are equally aware of their own roles and responsibilities within the Company

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • London Underground certification is required to access all areas of the estate, candidates upon successful application shall be expected to achieve the desired level of accreditation as required.
  • JIB-PMES approved.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 - Minimum- (Heating & Ventilation/Plumbing)
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3: - Preferred- (Heating & Ventilation/ Plumbing)
  • GAS Safe

Domestic Gas

  • CCN1 – Core Gas Safety
  • CENWAT – Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers & Gas Water Heaters
  • CKR1 - Domestic Cookers
  • DAH1- Domestic Natural Gas & LPG Ducted Air Heaters

Commercial Gas

  • COCN1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety Assessment
  • CDGA1 – Commercial Direct Fired Heating Appliances & Equipment
  • CIGA1 – Commercial Indirect Fired Heating Appliances & Equipment
  • CORT1 – Commercial Overhead Luminous Radiant Plaque and Radiant Tube Heaters
  • ICPN1 – Installation of Commercial Pipework
  • TPCP1A – Testing and Purging Commercial Pipework to the requirements of IGE/UP/1A
  • BMP1- Commercial Gas Boosters

Oil Qualifications:

  • OFT101- Single stage pressure jet servicing and commissioning
  • OFT105E -Oil Installation & Energy Conservation
  • OFT600A- Oil Storage Tank

Other Qualifications:

  • Hot Water Systems and Safety Course G3 (Part G3 Building Regulations)
  • Water regs & L8

Desirable:

  • Sentinel- LU-ICI (London Underground Industry Common Induction)
