Job summary

Mark May is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join its expanding team. The role covers Ipswich with works across London & South East, involving site visits and on-call duties.

You will service and install commercial gas and heating systems, diagnose faults, read technical drawings, and work both autonomously and as part of a project team. Overtime and travel time are paid, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years' experience working on commercial heating systems.
• Current NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in plumbing or heating
• Current Domestic & Commercial Gas qualifications – refresher training can be provided
• Enhanced DBS clearance or ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
• Full clean manual UK driving licence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive and committed approach to Health & Safety

Responsibilities

• Carry out commercial gas and heating works across major private and public sector projects
• Diagnose faults and take a practical, problem-solving approach to challenging jobs
• Complete commercial gas activities both autonomously and as part of a project team
• Work on commercial plumbing and heating systems
• Read and interpret technical diagrams and project documentation
• Organise and prioritise workload to meet project deadlines
• Maintain strong customer service and communication throughout projects
