Position overview

We are seeking a dedicated Engineer - Combustion to join our team at HMP Littlehey, a Category C & Male prison.

Join a team that works Monday-Sunday as a supportive family, committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment. HMP Littlehey operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to function smoothly. Our Facilities Maintenance Team ensures safe and efficient operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As an Engineer - Combustion, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference.

Candidate requirements

• Two years experience as a heating or combustion engineer or equivalent
• Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
• Familiarity with Gas Safe regulations 1998 and industry standards
• Experience with commercial catering gas appliances (beneficial)
• Plumber qualification to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
• Core domestic gas safety (CCN1) and relevant appliance units
• Core commercial gas safety (COCN1) and relevant units
• Good health and safety knowledge
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
