Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a facilities management and building services team. You will work across a varied portfolio of commercial properties, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive repairs and minor installation works.

The successful candidate will ensure building services are maintained to the highest standards, complying with health and safety regulations, and providing a professional service.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer within facilities management or building services.
• Valid Commercial Gas qualifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A or equivalent) required.
• Experience servicing and maintaining commercial boilers and heating systems.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Strong health and safety awareness and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems.
• Service, maintain and repair boilers, heating systems and related plant.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete minor installation and replacement works as required.
• Undertake basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance tasks as needed.
• Ensure work complies with current legislation and safety regulations.
• Document all work accurately using electronic or paper systems.
• Liaise with clients and site contacts to provide excellent service.
• Participate in an on-call rota where required.

Commercial Gas Engineer - Central Belt - Salary up to £47,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a well-established facilities management and building services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of commercial properties, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and minor installation works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring building services are maintained to the highest standards, delivering a professional service while maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems.
• Service, maintain and repair commercial boilers, heating systems and associated plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete minor installation and replacement works as required.
• Undertake basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance duties where required.
• Carry out inspections and ensure all work complies with current legislation and industry standards.
• Complete all required documentation accurately using electronic or paper-based systems.
• Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts and colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
• Participate in an on-call rota where required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer within facilities management, building services or a similar environment.
• Valid Commercial Gas qualifications (CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A or equivalent).
• Experience servicing and maintaining commercial boilers and heating systems.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Basic plumbing and mechanical maintenance experience.
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• A full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• LPG qualifications.
• Domestic Gas qualifications.
• F-Gas certification.
• 18th Edition.
• Electrical knowledge or additional building services experience.
• Experience working within schools, healthcare, retail or commercial buildings.
