Position Title: Commercial Fire and Security Training Manager
Location: Home-based with regular travel to training sites and client locations
Reporting to: Director of Technical Training
Salary: GBP45,000 - GBP55,000 + bonus

Job Overview

We re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Commercial Fire and Security Training Manager to lead the delivery and development of training programmes across fire and security systems. This role involves creating engaging training materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting learners to become confident and certified professionals. You ll also play a key role in developing new business opportunities through tailored training solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Training Design & Delivery

  • Develop and deliver training on systems like CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and intruder detection.

  • Create bespoke training for external clients using a mix of classroom, hands-on, and online learning.

  • Keep materials up to date with current technologies and industry developments.

Compliance & Certification

  • Ensure all training meets industry standards (e.g. BAFE, NSI, FIA).

  • Oversee certification and maintain training records for audits.

Evaluating Training Impact

  • Measure training success through assessments and feedback.

  • Identify knowledge gaps and provide solutions to support learner development.

  • Align training with business goals and career progression pathways.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build partnerships with training bodies and industry experts.

  • Support and mentor trainers and learners to promote continuous improvement.

  • Deliver customised training to meet client needs.

Business Development

  • Identify and explore opportunities to offer training services to businesses.

  • Develop tailored solutions based on market trends and client feedback.

Reporting & Admin

  • Manage the training budget and resources.

  • Report regularly on training activities and outcomes.

  • Use data to improve training delivery and learner performance.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience delivering training within the fire and security sector.

  • Strong technical knowledge of fire/security systems (e.g. Honeywell, Hikvision, Texecom).

  • Understanding of industry standards and compliance (e.g. BAFE, NSI, BS 5839).

  • Confident presenting and communicating to a range of audiences.

  • Comfortable using Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.

  • Ability to deliver both technical and soft skills training.

Desirable

  • Recognised training qualifications (e.g. CIPD Level 3, FIA trainer).

  • Technical certifications in fire/security systems (e.g. BAFE, FIA).

  • Experience designing structured training programmes.
