Marks Sattin (UK) Ltd is assisting a growing multi-discipline SME in South Cheshire to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller. You will own financial reporting, analysis and forecasting, partnering with senior leaders to influence decisions and drive profitable growth.

The role includes overseeing a German subsidiary and developing the Finance Manager, with a hybrid working pattern and a base salary up to 80k plus bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager or similar role.
• Strong commercial analysis and business partnering experience.
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial control.
• Experience managing or developing finance team members.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, ideally PowerBI experience.
• Experience working with ERP and reporting systems.

Delighted to be working with this growing multi discipline group who are currently recruiting for a Commercial Financial Controller to join a thriving SME business based in South Cheshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys getting behind the numbers, understanding what is driving business performance and using financial insight to influence decision-making.

Reporting to an impressive Group CFO, and with line management responsibility over an experienced Finance Manager, you will take ownership of financial performance, reporting, forecasting and controls, whilst working closely with senior leadership to provide meaningful commercial analysis and support growth. A key part of the role will be analysing performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities, and translating financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for the business.

More specifically the role will be to:

• Take ownership of financial reporting, performance and the control environment
• Deliver commercial analysis and insight to support business decisions
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes
• Analyse the key drivers of profitability and operational performance
• Provide insight across sales channels, gross margin, logistics costs, marketing ROI, customer acquisition costs and inventory
• Manage and develop the Finance Manager
• Oversee the financial requirements of a German subsidiary

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager or similar role
• Strong commercial analysis and business partnering experienceGood knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial control
• Experience managing or developing finance team members
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, ideally PowerBI experience
• Experience working with ERP and reporting systems

Most importantly, you will be analytical, commercially minded and confident challenging assumptions. Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level, able to immerse yourself in all aspects of a growing SME while still being willing to get into the detail when required
