Job description

Easol is the leading all-in-one ‘experience commerce’ platform built to power experience businesses including festivals, wellness retreats, food and drink, sports and adventure trips. With Easol, experience businesses have complete control to drive more direct sales, retain more revenue, own their data and run their business on their terms.

Easol has deep roots in experiences. The platform was founded by former festival founders, Lisa and Ben Simpson in 2017, after the husband and wife team endured challenges and frustrations first‑hand while setting up and growing their own experience business including Rise, Europe’s biggest snowsports and music festival, and Beyond Adventures, a series of adventure travel experiences in remote locations such as the Sahara desert and the Swedish archipelago.

Role Overview

This role sits at the heart of Easol’s commercial engine, nominally between Finance and Business Operations (BizOps), with a significant strategy and product component thrown in. Given the breadth and variety of topics you will cover you will interact closely with all teams across the business. This is a high‑impact role that will shape the future of our business by providing analytics and insights to grow our revenue, improve cost and unit economics, optimise gross margin and much more. The balance between the Finance and BizOps functions will vary over time as priorities come and go, and you will be able to significantly shape the role as you grow into it.

We are an office‑first company with a London HQ in Bethnal Green. We have team anchor days on Tuesday & Thursday when everyone is in the office, and we ask our team to come into the office 3+ days a week.

FP&A and Commercial Finance
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Own & refine financial models to forecast revenue, margins, spend, cash and other key metrics
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve gross margins, and operational efficiency – as well as forecasting accuracy
  • Refine our approach to forecasting transaction volumes which underpin our revenue forecasting
  • Work closely with Customer Success Managers (CSM) and Creators (Easols' customers) to forecast volumes
  • Identify investment as well as cost saving opportunities, working closely with teams across the business to integrate the benefits of financial thinking more generally at Easol
  • Develop new, data‑driven and scalable processes that will allow us to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our forecasting (partnering with Data Engineers where applicable)
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports and forecasts to the team, board, investors, etc. and support the preparation of board materials and investor updates. Own BAU relationship with debt & equity investors, reporting, etc.
Business Operations & Embedded Finance
  • Pricing & margin: Leverage data and work closely with internal (Sales, CS) and external (pricing experts) stakeholders to improve our customer segmentation, pricing strategies and resulting margins
  • Own our Embedded Finance stack: high‑margin ancillary revenue streams (FX, insurance, capital, etc.), ensuring that we’re optimising service levels and revenue / margins
  • Use data‑driven insights to propose, test and roll out improvements (e.g. working with product & engineering to automate our hedging practices to reduce manual intervention and further improve margins on our FX revenue)
  • Build out the commercial case for additional revenue opportunities as Easol’s product portfolio evolves (e.g. as we transition to an AI‑centric platform)
  • Build out agentic AI workflows and be a driving force for improving the way we operate across Finance and BizOps with AI Drive forward commercial analytics to enable better decision‑making across the business
  • Own Easol’s payment ecosystem, the financial heart of our platform. You’ll oversee the flow of funds across our newly implemented payment aggregator, multiple PSPs, and global markets, driving optimisation of payment margins and operational efficiency
Experience We’re Looking For
  • Qualified accountant with a few years of audit or comparable accounting or commercial finance experience in a professional services environment
  • 2‑3+ years of experience working in FP&A or commercial finance functions outside of a professional services environment
  • Some of that will have been in a scale‑up / high‑growth / tech environment
  • Experience in SaaS, Marketplace and / or Fintech / payments business models would be a bonus
  • Great communication skills – you’ll have to work closely with internal as well as external stakeholders who are not always financially proficient or comfortable with data; being able to translate their insights into data and learnings is central to this role’s success
  • Top analytical skills, proficient in modelling, data analysis and manipulation (ideally able to use data queries)
About You
  • You’ll enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment, where everyone rolls up their sleeves and there is rarely an operating manual to follow – you will be building these out!
  • You’ll need to be comfortable with rapid and frequent change, able to pivot accordingly and do so with gusto
  • Strong growth mindset – our ambition is for Easol to become a category‑defining business, and to achieve that we will have to continuously learn and push boundaries
  • You’re process‑oriented and enjoy improving setups, documenting them
  • Proven commercial acumen – you must be able to cut through noise and leverage data to derive commercial insights and drive value for the business
  • You are passionate about experiences, travel and adventure – you’re likely to spend your holidays kite‑surfing in Sri Lanka, hiking the Nepalese mountains or at an alternative music festival
Why Work At Easol?
  • 🧠 You’ll have real visibility of what’s happening in the business. We have weekly company meetings, where we all get together to discuss our wins, learning opportunities, our goals and direction
  • 🗣 There is an open forum for you to have your say in what we do and how we do it. We empower our team to share their ideas – no egos here!
  • 🌏 You’ll have access to our incredible perks, such as a company‑funded “deep week”, where you can travel to a destination of choice and have dedicated time to focus on a project that is important to you without distraction
  • 💰 In addition to that, we offer a monthly “Thrive” budget which can be used towards anything that helps you pause and re‑energise, whether that’s getting your nails done, going to the gym or a gig. Our “Find Your Way” allowance, to be claimed against your mobile phone contract and/or a music subscription, as well as an annual personal development budget, support to choose your own equipment and a lot more! We offer fully funded Vitality healthcare, with an option to add dependents
  • ✈ You’ll have 33 days of holidays, inclusive of public holidays
  • 🌱 Employees of all backgrounds and physical abilities will be supported by us in every way possible to thrive
