Job Description

Please note, this role can be based out of our Holborn or Ansty Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into our Ansty SSC 1-2 days per week on average.

This role sits within a large Commercial Finance function and is a key member of the Clothing Finance team. The job holder will provide insight, analysis, and commentary to stakeholders to drive decisions that improve the bottom line and support our Next Level Sainsbury's strategy.

You will support Clothing Online and the Clothing Division in delivering strategic and financial plans, ranging from daily trading decisions to long-term financial planning and analysis.

You will act as the key Finance Business Partner and finance expert, working cross-functionally with stakeholders to deliver comprehensive financial perspectives on performance and decisions. Ensuring robust financial performance and forecasts for your business area is part of your responsibilities.

More About The Role

• Partner with the Clothing Online team and support the wider Clothing Division
• Participate in weekly trading meetings, providing support, challenge, and data-driven decision-making
• Interpret management reports to provide insight, analysis, and commentary, including managing the Clothing Online P&L
• Identify risks and opportunities, prioritising effectively
• Ensure alignment between stakeholders through clear, timely analysis
• Attend department meetings to ensure Finance has a 'voice' at the table
• Build external perspectives and influence stakeholders
• Complete ad hoc analysis and reporting to drive improvements
• Support the Head of Finance when needed
• Contribute to key Finance deliverables such as Budget, Corporate Plan, Year-End

About You

• Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Experience in commercial business partnering, analyzing data to identify opportunities
• Comfortable with complex analysis, proactive and reactive
• Experience partnering teams with costs and sales implications is desirable
• Strong commercial acumen and performance drive
• Ability to manage workload and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communicator, influencer, and challenger to senior stakeholders
• Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into insights
• Proven ability in financial control and environment development
• High energy, pace, and resilience
• Self-starter and team player, capable of independent work and decision support
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working with ambiguity
