Commercial Finance Manager

e.surv Chartered Surveyors is currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Manager to partner with our Business Development Director and Consumer Director. You will leverage your expertise in market analysis and trends related to revenue, customers, clients, and overall profitability of our Consumer business.

This role is based on home working, with regular travel to the Head Office in Kettering on an ad hoc basis.

Accountabilities include:

Reporting
  • Design and lead the creation of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue performance reports, including KPIs and insights. Lead discussions on implications, next steps, and remediation strategies for our consumer business.
  • Manage the Commercial Finance analysts to develop relevant revenue reports and KPIs.
  • Fulfill all revenue and commercial finance reporting needs such as QBRs, Monthly FD calls, and business performance reviews with the CEO/CFO.
Business Partnering
  • Act as a finance business partner to the Sales (Business Development Director - B2B/Lender and B2C/Consumer Director) and Head of Marketing to identify issues and trends, and lead dialogues that drive business performance improvements.
  • Support commercial tenders with dynamic pricing, revenue, cost, and profitability models, providing commercial support for pricing and product positioning.
Strategic Optimisation - for Lender & Consumer segments
  • Maintain external market perspectives by modeling market, customer, and competitor trends and their impacts on revenue projections.
  • Deliver scenario planning for potential strategies and market assumptions to support strategic planning.
  • Provide revenue and profit models for potential business strategies, including organic growth and acquisitions.
  • Prepare robust revenue stream models and scenarios for investment appraisals and business cases.
  • Assist in identifying and delivering new business initiatives, ensuring alignment with business cases and adjusting execution plans as needed.
Planning Cycle - for Lender & Consumer segments
  • Develop a robust, defensible revenue plan aligned with business strategy, with a clear narrative.
  • Create and manage the one-year revenue budget and ongoing forecasts, consolidating opportunities considering market conditions and new initiatives.
  • Present plans and forecasts visually compellingly, with clear year-over-year transitions and narratives.
  • Ensure all plans include metrics and assumptions related to customers, markets, competitors, pipeline, and pricing.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with FP&A or Commercial Finance experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and influence skills to optimize performance.
  • Significant experience in creating and presenting robust financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ability to portray business performance and strategies engagingly and visually with compelling narratives.
  • Experience in financial modeling and scenario planning.
