Job description

Interim Commercial Finance Manager – 6-Month Contract (Potential to Extend)
£350/day PAYE (Equivalent to ~£410/day via umbrella)

We are currently supporting a leading live entertainment business in the search for an Interim Commercial Finance Manager for an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension. The company is a key player in the production and promotion of over 200 live events annually—including concerts, immersive experiences, and large-scale productions.

This position sits within a dynamic and fast-paced division of the business and will play a crucial role in financial oversight and commercial decision-making. It offers a hybrid working arrangement from modern offices in London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor event budgets, ensuring alignment between actual cash flow and forecasts.

  • Collaborate with commercial leadership to resolve budget discrepancies.

  • Prepare and present detailed financial analysis and performance reports to senior stakeholders.

  • Investigate budget vs. actual variances and recommend corrective actions.

  • Reconcile event and project accounts for accuracy and completeness.

  • Update forecasts by reviewing revenue and cost assumptions; manage accruals.

  • Support cross-functional teams (e.g., events, marketing, advertising) with ad hoc financial analysis.

  • Manage aged debtors and supervise an Accounts Receivable Accountant to ensure timely collections.

Requirements:
  • Strong experience in project accounting, ideally within the live entertainment, events, or media industries.

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accounting qualifications (or similar)
  • Proven track record in commercial finance roles with direct exposure to senior leadership.

  • Ability to interpret financial data, challenge assumptions, and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Availability to start ASAP or by early August.
