Euro Projects Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to join a growing SME engineering/manufacturing business near Oxford. Reporting to the MD, you will modernise finance, drive systems and provide robust MI to support strategic decisions, with potential progression to Finance Director.

The role combines hands-on finance leadership with change management, aiming to build a high-performing function and enable sustainable growth across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial finance capability.
• Experience operating at FD/Finance Director level, or ready for step up from FC.
• Experience improving systems, processes and ways of working.
• An appetite for digital transformation.
• Confidence to challenge and influence the MD and leadership team.
• Pragmatic, hands-on approach.
• Ability to turn ideas into action.
• Strong communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Define finance strategy and support commercial decision-making.
• Lead digital transformation and finance systems improvements.
• Oversee finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Drive business-wide process improvements and MI for performance visibility.
• Focus on margin improvement and profitability.
• Support leadership development and future growth strategy.
• Influence MD and wider leadership team to implement change.
