Job description

An International FMCG business is currently experiencing exponential growth and is looking to expand their Commercial Finance team. My client is recruiting for a Commercial Finance Business Partner role reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance. The role offers excellent hybrid working options and strong progression opportunities for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

1. Partner with account managers for major retailers.
2. Forecast financial performance and analyze promotional profitability.
3. Approve new product launches and conduct investment appraisals.
4. Collaborate with the Sales team on financial models related to cost negotiations.
5. Report on brand, product category, and product sales, costs, and margins.
6. Analyze and report on brand profitability.
7. Prepare sales reports and analysis for senior stakeholders.
8. Review KPI reports on channel, customer, and product profitability, providing insights and variance analysis for senior Directors.
9. Conduct month-end analysis of sales and margins compared to budgets and previous years, highlighting risks and opportunities.
10. Perform commercial and business trend analysis across customers, categories, and products.
11. Interpret large data sets to provide actionable insights alongside the Commercial Director.
12. Translate complex data into clear, digestible information.
13. Support decision-making with accurate recommendations.
14. Monitor marketing and promotional spend against sales growth and margins.
15. Manage contract pricing and bespoke promotions files.
16. Maintain customer terms and overriders tracker by account.
17. Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with finance and commercial teams.
18. Work with finance to ensure proper deduction allocations and understand distribution drivers.
19. Build and maintain relationships with senior managers and their teams.
20. Assist in planning around production, distribution, costing, and purchasing.
21. Identify future performance risks and opportunities, leading initiatives to address gaps.

Requirements:

1. Significant post-qualified finance experience; FMCG experience preferred.
2. Qualifications: CIMA, ACA, or ACCA preferred.
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to influence at all levels.
