Commercial Finance Business Partner

Location: Manchester or Southport (internal applications Markerstudy locations will be considered)

The Role:

Working with the Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner for two brands (Payment Shield & Lloyd Latchford) within Markerstudy Distribution, you will partner with key departments, aligning with the P&L owner to provide clear articulation of financial performance, accurate forecasting based on an understanding of the commercial models, take joint ownership for the commercial outcomes, identify commercial opportunities, and deliver value while providing robust challenge to colleagues where applicable.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Financial
  • Deliver budget targets for Volumes & EBITDA
  • Work with the pricing and sales teams to optimise the balance between case growth and earnings
  • Identify opportunities for additional value through commercial or cost initiatives
  • Manage Risks and Opportunities closely
  • Support initiative delivery including business cases for change prioritisation and financial tracking throughout the year
• Strategic
  • Drive simplification and process improvement across the team, including transition to group Anaplan data and modelling
  • Deliver consistent trading reporting and forecasting across Distribution
  • Investigate performance issues and create ad hoc analysis to support decision making
  • Allocate regular time for improvements beyond BAU activities to foster continuous improvement
  • Analyse external trends and identify customer and commercial opportunities
  • Support M&A and due diligence/information requests
• Customer
  • Enhance relationships with P&L owners and management teams to promote collaboration and shared targets
  • Build relationships with key financial stakeholders including Group FP&A, Group Cost, and Controllership
• Risk
  • Complete compliance training on time
  • Ensure adherence to Financial Reporting Standards
  • Strictly follow Business Policies & Standards across the function

  • Maintain PDP with clear expectations for 2025

What We're Looking For:

• Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified
• Proven experience in FP&A / Business Partnering
• Advanced Excel skills, including building financial models
• Experience with Anaplan is highly desirable but not essential
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Curious nature with a drive to deliver change
