Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley seeks a Commercial Finance – Finance Business Partner to advise senior leaders across the non-F1 team and drive profitability. The role combines strategic partnering with financial leadership and requires robust modelling and communication of insights to support investments.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead finance business partner for High-Performance Powertrains, Customer Teams and on-site Technical Services functions.
• Build strong relationships with departmental leaders and become a trusted advisor on strategic and operational decision-making.
• Provide financial challenge, commercial insight and robust business cases to support investment decisions.
• Influence decision-making through clear analysis of financial and commercial performance.
• Support the evaluation of new customer opportunities, commercial proposals and strategic initiatives through robust financial modelling and analysis.
• Review project pricing to optimise profit margins.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes across partner functions.
• Monitor and report on performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
• Responsible for the preparation of regular reporting in line with the needs of the business.
• Ensure strong financial governance, controls and compliance across supported areas.
• Partner with Financial Accounting team to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
• Lead, coach and develop a direct report(s), providing clear direction, constructive feedback and opportunities for professional growth.
• Coach and develop junior finance team members where appropriate.
• Collaborate with the finance transformation team to develop processes and system improvements that enhance functionality, accuracy, and data integrity across finance tasks.
• Identify areas which would benefit from the use of automation technology to eliminate repetitive and/or non-efficient tasks.
• Support the development of methodologies to automate reporting and integrate into systems both current and new in line with departmental priorities.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the non-F1 team. This is a high-impact role that combines strategic business partnering with financial leadership, providing insight, challenge and guidance to support decision-making and improve profitability.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial rigour, driving commercial performance and delivering clear insight to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering
