FD Recruit is working exclusively with an award-winning, market-leading, well-established end-to-end manufacturing and engineering business based in stunning South Wales, to source a strategically focused, yet hands-on, Commercial Finance and Compliance Director. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Finance, IT, HR, Quality Control, and Systems, this crucial position reports to and works closely with a highly driven and passionate Managing Director. The Commercial Finance and Compliance Director will be instrumental in managing, streamlining, and improving processes across the organization, focusing on business development and growth, complementing and challenging the Managing Director’s skillset.

Key duties will encompass:

1. Providing commercial and financial insight, support, management, and control for the Leadership team and the Board.
2. Supporting enhanced profit through sales and margin growth with cost containment, including significant input for major commercial decisions such as capital investments.
3. Leading financial planning and management, including managing the annual budget process.
4. Controlling all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audits.
5. Ensuring compliance with statutory financial requirements and timely filings.
6. Managing company policies regarding capital, debt, taxation, and equity.
7. Managing key external financial relationships, including banking and legal.
8. Providing cash flow forecasting and maintaining long-term cash forecasts.
9. Managing MI and management reporting.
10. Formulating financial targets and budgets aligned with the Board's strategy.
11. Managing IT and systems needs, liaising with external providers.
12. Overseeing stock take, stock valuation, and product costings, with regular reviews.
13. Overseeing HR in conjunction with the HR Coordinator, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
14. Acting as Quality Systems Manager, maintaining ISO9001:2015 accreditation, overseeing internal audits, and corrective action reports.
15. Maintaining procedures/manual updates and reporting measures.

About you:

1. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in senior finance roles.
2. Experience in manufacturing or engineering sectors is essential; exposure to other commercial areas is highly desirable.
3. Strong understanding of corporate budgeting and financial management.
4. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate staff across multiple areas.
5. Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.
6. High standards of integrity, professionalism, and credibility.
7. Ability to work positively under pressure.
8. Strong analytical skills for strategic problem solving and decision making.
