Aegon UK is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst on a permanent basis in Witham. The role is hybrid, requiring colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 40% of their time.

The salary ranges from £33,520 to £50,280 with a closing date of 1 October 2026. You will support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, analyse performance, deliver month-end outputs, and partner with senior leaders to provide financial insight and challenge where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance function with strong reporting and analysis.
• Experience with month-end activities, journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel proficiency and data interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of P&L and balance sheet reporting; finance ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Analyse financial performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce accurate month-end reporting to aid decision-making.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge where needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities across the business.
• Analyse financial performance, including variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce and deliver accurate month-end reporting, ensuring deadlines are met and outputs support effective decision-making.
• Partner with business stakeholders and senior leaders to provide financial insight and challenge where required.
• Support the annual planning process and ongoing forecasting cycle, helping to drive financial performance and profitability.
• Complete key financial control activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and management reporting.

What we're looking for

• Experience working within a finance function, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
• Management accounting experience, including month-end activities, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
• Good understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet reporting and finance ledgers.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
• Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or equivalent relevant finance qualification is preferred though not essential.
