As the Commercial Finance Analyst you will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to provide financial support and challenge to the Offer and Sourcing teams through robust analysis. This role plays a key part in driving effective range decisions and supporting performance improvement initiatives. You will primarily support the Outdoor Building and Joinery categories, working closely with the range team. Key responsibilities include monthly closing, reporting, ad hoc analysis, deep dives, sourcing validation, and providing financial input to product development.

• Analysis and modelling of sales and net margin data to support ranging decisions and understand current and future product profitability
• Interpreting analysis to provide crucial insight on range performance to Commercial Finance Business Partners to support decision making
• Validation of sourcing and supply chain outputs to understand net margin improvements achieved
• Working flexibly and collaboratively to improve, share and standardize analytical approaches and procedures within the team and wider finance & O&S community.
• Supporting Commercial Finance Business Partners, providing information for stakeholder communication and allowing affective working relationships to form.

What you'll bring

• A proven analytical ability, creating and developing commercial analysis that drives decision making.
• Experience business partnering or working with and influencing non finance teams
• Demonstrating past experience of taking a lead on and owning projects, working efficiently to meet deadlines and using initiative to solve business problems.
• Problem solving and decision making; open minded to ideas, makes decisions based on factual information and evidence, resolves problems promptly, prepared to make a decision rather than avoid doing so and explores a range of options before reaching a decision.
• Retail experience although not essential would be an advantage
• Qualified/part qualified accountant with experience of having worked in a commercially focussed environment.
