Job description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Commercial Finance Analyst to join our FP&A team based near Covent Garden in Central London. Our headquarters in Wigan is the main hub for our team of over 200 innovative and ambitious experts dedicated to delivering our vision of providing the best betting experience for racing fans. We also have a small office in central London (Kean Street, WC2B 4AS) where this role and the FP&A team are based. For this role presence will be required in the London office 2/3 days per week. A full induction, training, and personal development plan will be provided to anyone who joins the team.

About the role:

As Commercial Finance Analyst you will play a key role in the FP&A team, supporting with critical financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis, cost reporting and business insights. You will also work proactively to build strong business partnering relationships with wider teams across the Tote, using financial planning and analysis along with the presentation of financial information to support and improve strategic decision making within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare regular reporting and analysis, producing reports that include relevant and insightful commentary and analysis,
  • Support in the budgeting, planning and reforecasting processes, this will involve meeting with revenue and cost P&L holders across the business and discussing findings with the Head of FP&A for use in the budget cycle
  • Business partnering with other teams throughout the wider business to develop best practice tools, models and processes that improve the analytical capabilities of the FP&A function
  • Proactively work with the FP&A team to improve current or introduce new processes to develop the FP&A function
What you'll need:

We are looking for a driven individual who will enjoy and make a success of financial modelling, problem solving and business partnering with teams across business functions. The ideal candidate will be finalist or new qualified accountant with previous experience in financial modelling, building business cases and can demonstrate a willingness to play a key role in driving process improvements. Other skills and experience we are looking for candidates to demonstrate include;
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to reporting accuracy
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • An enthusiastic and personable approach to working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Previous experience using Power BI databases and dashboards is advantageous but not essential
