Job summary

Accountable Recruitment Limited is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst in Liverpool. The role partners with stakeholders to provide financial insight, supports forecasting, budgeting and reporting, and drives profitability in a fast-growing business.

The ideal candidate is part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) with strong Excel skills and experience in FP&A or commercial finance, based in Liverpool. A base salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus bonus and study support is on offer.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant pursuing CIMA/ACCA.
• Experience in Commercial Finance/FP&A or similar.
• Advanced Excel with large datasets.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support rolling sales, stock and cashflow forecasts.
• Assist with weekly cashflow reporting and working capital analysis.
• Produce monthly KPI and management reporting packs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.
• Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
• Deliver timely weekly and monthly financial reporting.
• Analyse variances and provide meaningful commentary.
• Translate financial information into clear commercial insights.
• Continuously improve reporting tools and processes.

Commercial Finance Analyst

Location: Liverpool Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Study Support Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join a rapidly growing business based in Liverpool.

This is a broad and highly visible role that will see you partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and drive commercial performance. Working within an ambitious and fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting, profitability analysis and business partnering activities.

This position would suit a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their commercial finance and FP&A experience within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting, Reporting & Analysis

• Support the production and maintenance of rolling sales, stock and cashflow forecasts.
• Assist with weekly cashflow reporting and working capital analysis.
• Produce and maintain monthly KPI and management reporting packs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities.
• Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with budget holders and department managers to monitor financial performance.
• Analyse variances against budget and provide meaningful commentary.
• Support budget-setting and reforecasting processes.
• Act as a key finance contact for operational stakeholders across the business.
• Translate financial information into clear commercial insights.

Commercial Performance Analysis

• Monitor sales and margin performance across multiple sales channels.
• Analyse product, customer and channel profitability.
• Identify performance trends, risks and opportunities to drive profitability.
• Support commercial reviews and performance reporting.
• Provide insight into market and competitor activity.

Process Improvement

• Continuously improve financial reporting, forecasting tools and processes.
• Utilise Excel and financial systems to improve reporting efficiency and automation.
• Support a variety of commercial and finance-related projects as the business continues to grow.

About You

Essential

• Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with ongoing studies toward qualification.
• Previous experience within Commercial Finance, FP&A, Financial Analysis or a similar role.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
