Job description

We are seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team. This role is critical in delivering accurate and timely commercial reporting to support informed business decision-making. You will play a key role in analysing financial data, supporting business planning, and partnering with various stakeholders across the agency.

The Commercial Finance team is responsible for maximising revenue and profitability across the M&C Saatchi Consulting division.Working closely with client-facing Consulting teams, the team ensures that all aspects of client finance operate smoothly and efficiently.

What you'll do:

Management Information

  • Produce and maintain management reporting for the Consulting team
  • Forecast and track revenue
  • Analyse project and client profitability
  • Monitor staff billable utilisation
  • Forecast staff capacity and support resourcing
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary on performance vs forecast

Commercial Business Partnering

  • Act as a finance business partner to UK-based Consulting leadership
  • Develop and support financial plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Provide commercial input for pitches and pricing proposals

Client Financial Management

  • Support client teams and finance operations with:
  • Onboarding clients and suppliers
  • Invoicing, WIP management, and revenue recognition
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Act as the point of escalation for financial queries

Group Reporting

  • Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary on key performance indicators
  • Support the Division Financial Controller and Finance Support Hub

Other Duties

  • Assist in internal and external audits, particularly on revenue queries
  • Support group compliance tasks as required

What you'll bring:

  • Newly qualified or part-qualified in finance or accountancy (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to tell a story through numbers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is a plus
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to draw insights from financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable collaborating with stakeholders of varying seniority
  • Able to present findings clearly and succinctly
