Ideal for someone who enjoys making sense of numbers and translating data into real business value.

While you'll be working day to day with the AWIN team, your employment will be through our parent company, Advanced Utility Networks (AUN) - giving you access to wider group resources and support while focusing your role within the exciting and fast-growing water business.

Location: Braintree, Essex

Hours: Full time

Salary: Competitive

Working Model: Hybrid

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Commercial Analyst, you'll sit at the intersection of finance and commercial operations, helping ensure our data and processes support informed decision-making. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Data & Reporting: Gather, organise, and maintain accurate data to support commercial, financial, and regulatory reporting.
  • Finance Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to ensure all commercial data is aligned, accurate, and up to date.
  • Cross-Team Communication: Act as a bridge between finance and commercial - helping to translate and explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Cost & Billing Oversight: Review invoices, track charges, and ensure financial documents match expected usage and agreements.
  • Forecasting Support: Assist in maintaining forecasting models for metering, consumption, and related activity.
  • Purchase Order Management: Help raise and track POs, aligning with budgets and ensuring project costs are correctly monitored.
  • Tariff & Pricing Communication: Support the publication and communication of tariffs and pricing to different customer groups.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development of internal reporting tools and communication flows across departments.
What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a proactive and organised individual with a passion for data and financial accuracy. Ideal candidates will have:
  • Experience in a finance support, commercial analyst, or purchase ledger-related role.
  • Strong Excel skills - including lookups, formulas, and data manipulation.
  • High attention to detail - with a consistent focus on data accuracy and consistency.
  • Confident communication skills - able to explain financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • An analytical mindset - with the ability to problem-solve and think critically about data and trends.
  • A collaborative approach - comfortable working across departments to support joined-up thinking.
  • A willingness to learn - especially when it comes to industry practices
Desirable (but not essential):
  • AAT qualification or equivalent analytical/finance training.
  • Experience working in regulated environments or with commercial operations.
Why Join AWIN (via AUN)?

As a forward-thinking company in the NAV (New Appointment and Variation) water sector, AWIN brings together the innovation of a start-up with the strength of experienced leadership. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of business areas and play a key role in financial operations from day one. With employment through Advanced Utility Networks (AUN), you'll be part of a wider utilities group that values clear communication, continuous improvement, and meaningful impact.

If you're analytical, organised, and looking for your next step in a commercially focused finance role - we'd love to hear from you!
