Director & Co-Founder at EVEREC - Head of EV Charging

Commercial Estimator / Bid Manager / Quantity Surveyor - EV Charging

Location: London - Hybrid (3 days in London office)

About the Role:

My client is seeking an experienced QS/Estimator with a strong background in commercial management to join the team. Initially, the focus will be on bids and tenders, primarily working with Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) projects. As these bids transition into delivery phases, the role will evolve to support project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and support the preparation of pricing tenders and financial submissions for bids.
  2. Provide cost estimation and financial oversight for EV charger installations.
  3. Support senior management with bid preparation and delivery.
  4. Take ownership of smaller bids and direct award opportunities.
  5. Collaborate closely with the sales team to assess project requirements, including value and cost considerations.
  6. Work alongside the delivery manager and team to ensure smooth project execution.
  7. Review contractor quotes to ensure alignment with project requirements and resolve any discrepancies with installers.
  8. Provide commercial insights and support for LEVI bids, local authority projects, and private sector opportunities.

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor (QS), Estimator, or Bid Management role.
  2. Strong understanding of pricing, estimating, and financial submissions for tenders.
  3. Experience in infrastructure sectors such as energy, telecoms, or related industries.
  4. Familiarity with NEC (or similar) contracts is highly desirable.
  5. Knowledge of UK regulations and cost structures for EV charger installations (AC and DC).
  6. Ability to manage commercial aspects of projects with local authorities and councils (approx. 80% focus), as well as private sector clients.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Strong analytical and numerical skills to evaluate project costs and profitability.
  2. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  3. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project discrepancies.
  4. Degree in a relevant field such as Cost Management, Project Management, or similar; however, relevant industry experience is equally valued.

Working Conditions:

  1. Hybrid working model with flexibility, expected to work from the London office once per week.
  2. No site work required; the role will focus primarily on commercial and financial aspects.

Why Join Us?

  1. Be part of an exciting and growing team working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  2. Opportunities to contribute to sustainable, net-zero initiatives.
  3. Career growth potential with exposure to high-profile LEVI projects.
