Job description

Our client, a local authority based in Suffolk, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer/ Food Safety Officer to join their Commercial team. In this role, you will be responsible for routine Food Safety duties and reactive Health and Safety work and enforcement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine inspections.
  • Response to complaints
  • Accident investigations
  • Provide advice and guidance to businesses.
  • Investigate complaints and take enforcement action where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Environmental Health or equivalent
  • EHRB/CIEH registered
  • Applicants withHigher Certificate in Food Control / Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene and Standards Control with NEBOSH diploma will be considered.
  • Up-to-date CPD
  • Up-to-date competency framework
  • Minimum 5years of experience in a similar role
  • The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
  • Full UK driving license & access to your own vehicles

Details:

  • 6 months contract
  • Hybrid working
  • Flexible working (weekend working allowed)
  • Full-time 37 hours
  • IR35 status: TBC
