Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a Legal 500 ranked firm in Leeds who are looking for a Commercial Disputes Managing Associate to join their team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Lead and manage complex commercial dispute cases.
  2. Work closely with UK and international partners on client matters and business growth.
  3. Advise clients on resolving disputes through court, arbitration, mediation, or negotiation.
  4. Support and help grow relationships with new and existing clients.
  5. Collaborate with other teams to give practical, business-focused legal advice.
  6. Guide and mentor junior team members.
  7. Use legal tech and AI tools to improve service and efficiency.
  8. Take part in training and development opportunities.
  9. Contribute to a friendly, supportive, and high-performing team.

The successful candidate:

  1. 5 + years PQE in commercial disputes, ideally within a private practice setting.
  2. Confident handling complex cases and resolving disputes.
  3. Experience in private practice, ideally with big or high-value cases.
  4. Good legal knowledge and a practical, business-focused approach.
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Comfortable building client relationships and helping grow the business.
  7. Able to guide and support junior team members.
  8. Open to using legal tech and new ways of working.
  9. Motivated, professional, and keen to progress.
