Job Summary:

As the Commercial Director - Energy Storage/Energy & Power, you will lead a regional sales team, guiding and holding them accountable to meet commercial targets through account growth. You will develop your team, oversee training, budgeting, goal setting, and monitor performance. You will also contribute to strategic planning and provide insights for new business opportunities using market analysis, customer feedback, and regional input. Collaboration with a global team to improve service and achieve global goals is essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, budgets, and annual goals.
  • Lead and motivate the regional sales team; promote cross-selling and excellent customer service; handle customer issues effectively.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff; identify training needs; facilitate communication of product knowledge and company goals.
  • Manage regional sales travel and expenses.
  • Organize attendance at trade shows; track success based on new orders from leads.
  • Understand customer business environments to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create promotional campaigns and strategic presentation materials.
  • Apply domain expertise in product portfolio, channels, and market research.
  • Assist in preparing the sales and marketing budget; analyze and report results regularly.
  • Contribute to strategic projects and process improvements.
  • Engage with customers and prospects; monitor competitor activities.
  • Develop marketing materials; attend conferences and events.
  • Participate in shaping CSA Group’s global strategies and influence regional execution.
  • Provide input on regional investments, M&A, marketing, and pricing strategies.
  • Manage key relationships with trade associations and government agencies.
  • Support business analysis and market intelligence efforts.
  • Communicate proactively about programs affecting staff and customers.
  • Use leadership skills to influence staff and foster a positive business culture.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in technical or business fields; Engineering Degree and MBA are advantageous.
  • At least six years of strategic leadership experience, managing a product group or technology regionally or globally.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, build networks, and execute plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; proficiency in English.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office), problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience leading a regional sales team and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior organizational stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
