About the Role:

My client are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Commercial Director to join their leadership team in Staffordshire. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and Managing Director , this is a pivotal role for someone who has experience working in or helping grow a construction business with a turnover of £100M+.

You will be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of the business, with a clear roadmap to reach £100M within the next few years. This is a rare opportunity to shape and build the commercial function across multiple regions and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop the commercial strategy across all regions

Work closely with the board to deliver growth plans, budgets, and commercial frameworks.

Oversee and support regional leads

Build and grow the commercial team to support business expansion.

Provide financial oversight and commercial governance across all projects and teams.

Develop and implement budgets and campaigns for new office openings (e.g., Glasgow in 2026).

Ensure robust commercial controls, risk management, and profitability across the business.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Tier 1 or large construction firm with £100M+ turnover.

Demonstrated success in growing a business or playing a key role in scaling operations.

Strong financial and commercial acumen within the construction sector.

Experience building and leading commercial teams.

Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership style.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Based full-time in Staffordshire.
