The Role

The Commercial Department at PRS for Music is the customer facing and revenue generating arm of one of the world’s leading music copyright collectives. We are a UK based team of over 40 individuals who currently generate in excess of £650 million per year for our members through licensing music usage to a wide variety of industries, including; major and independent record labels, music festivals, broadcasters, computer game platforms and publishers and increasingly Web3 and the Metaverse.

We are currently undergoing a dynamic and exciting Sales Transformation process that will result in us delivering in excess of £1 billion a year to our members by 2026 and we are looking for new colleagues to help us reach our goals. We love our music and we love the challenge and responsibilities that go with delivering what is due to UK songwriters, composers and music publishers and we want to bring in talented individuals who can help us achieve significant growth by selling the benefits of music into the marketplace.


Responsibilities

As our Commercial Development Manager, some of your day to day duties will include…

  • Lead the commercial development of assigned standard licensing schemes and tariffs and licensing schemes thorugh negotiation with key stakeholders, trade bodies, identifying and delivering on any opportunities to increase member value through pricing improvements.
  • Deliver high quality market and industry analysis and support development of the underlying analytical frameworks for the ongoing review and development of PRS tariffs and licensing schemes
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders including internal staff, Member Committees, Advisory boards, Boards, customers and representative organisations.

The Process


Our interview process for this role is simple:

  • First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.

  • Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.

This allows you to provide examples of situations where you have had to demonstrate the required skills relevant to the role you are applying for. To assist your preparation for interview, research the STAR method to aid bringing your examples to life.


Location

We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home up to three days a week.
