Job summary

AWE plc in Reading is seeking a Commercial Data Analytics Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of commercial data across the business. You will ensure data accuracy, availability, and actionable insights to drive commercial decision-making within the Commercial team, focusing on third-party spend.

The role reports to the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager and offers a hybrid pattern with three on-site days and two remote days weekly, alongside

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience.
• Experience in a Procurement / Commercial function.
• Experience in data operations and/or commercial analytics.
• Proven experience managing large datasets, data transformation, and BI tools.
• Natural analytical thinker.
• Proficient in SQL, Excel, and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong communication skills translating insights into business language.
• Detail-oriented with proactive problem-solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Commercial teams have access to timely, accurate, and relevant data to meet performance and strategic objectives.
• Accountable for master data management of all commercial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems used by the Commercial function.
• Responsible for managing the data lifecycle, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
• Responsible for data protocols, data cleansing, and data maintenance to ensure usable data is available to Commercial colleagues.
• Acts as liaison between Commercial, IT, Finance, and other relevant teams in AWE to align data strategy with business requirements.
• Manages the Commercial Data Team.

Working Pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is eligible for hybrid working, typically involving three days on site in a long week and two days in a short week. We support flexible working, including part-time and varied hours. Role Overview: The Commercial Data Analytics Manager leads the strategic and operational management of commercial data across AWE. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, availability, and actionable use of data to drive effective commercial decision-making within the Commercial team on all matters relating to third-party spend incurred by AWE. The role reports into the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager.
