Job description

Description

Working directly with the Commercial and DA Partnerships Leadership team, you’ll be delivering oversight and management of contracts across AXA Commercial for this 12-month fixed term contract. You’ll work closely with the teams across Commercial, primarily with the DA Partnerships and Strategic Partners teams, and the AXA UK Legal team.

As Contracts Manager, you’ll be responsible for applying the contract management framework for all Commercial Distribution and Delegated Authority contracts. You’ll collaborate with Relationship and Product Managers to understand the pipeline of new distribution arrangements, ensuring contractual provisions are in place before relationships commence. Additionally, you’ll manage a plan to ensure AXA Commercial complies with AXA UK and Group guidelines for distribution and Delegated Authority contract management. You’ll resolve contract-related issues in coordination with the AXA UK Legal Team, Risk Teams, Relationship Managers, and external firms as needed.

At AXA, we promote flexible working, allowing our employees to balance home and office work effectively. You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home at locations such as Leeds, Reading, or Bolton, including visiting clients or attending industry events. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the commercial contract pipeline and prioritisation process.
  • Overseeing the contracts database for all distribution and delegated authority arrangements.
  • Providing contractual guidance and best practice advice to AXA Commercial teams.
  • Maintaining strong links with Group Legal to uphold best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance frameworks during contract onboarding and offboarding.
  • Reviewing and advising on mandatory clauses and contract reviews.
  • Reporting regularly to the UK Risk team and fulfilling ad hoc requests.
  • Collaborating with experts to address issues affecting compliance with AXA UK and Group requirements.
  • Proactively identifying and proposing solutions for contracts not going live as planned.
  • Executing and maintaining operational plans to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Reviewing residual risk exposure and addressing delays or shortfalls in planned activities.

Due to high application volume, we may close this vacancy early. If interested, we encourage you to apply promptly.

What you’ll bring:

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, including contract formation, termination, and dispute resolution.
  • Legal and contracting experience, with understanding of Delegated Authority arrangements preferred.
  • Ability to implement change effectively.
  • Experience in developing and managing contract frameworks and databases.
  • Influencing skills to achieve results.
  • Collaborative approach to risk and issue management.
  • Resilience and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience establishing new working methods and challenging the status quo.
  • Business planning and project management skills.
  • Track record of fostering a best-practice environment.

Internal candidates are encouraged to apply via the internal careers site for secondment opportunities. You must be eligible to work in the UK. This role is classified as an IDD role, requiring background screening every 4 years and annual declarations in interim years.

What we offer:

Our rewards package includes:

  • Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12%)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10x salary)
