Job description

Location: Moorgate, London (hybrid working)

Real Deals Media is looking for an experienced commercial content editor to run partner content across the company’s two titles, Real Deals and The Drawdown. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role and be adept at partnering with clients to create compelling thought-leadership and marketing-services content across text and audiovisual.

This is an exceptional opportunity to take the lead in an area with significant growth potential for the business and for the successful candidate.

The candidate should have exceptional content-creation skills, particularly in writing and editing, but also potentially in audiovisual editing and production, plus the planning and coordination of research and infographics to create data-led thought-leadership. They will need to be a reliable project manager and be able to coordinate with counterparts within the company, within our freelance network, and with our clients, in order to pull together commercial content that justifies itself editorially while also serving the needs of the clients.

The candidate should also have the experience and imagination to come up with potential new content formats and packages and to lead and coordinate the rollout of those campaigns in support of the sales and marketing teams.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Work closely with clients on the delivery of partner content
  2. Build out and lead new commercial-content formats and packages
  3. Lead the development and production of special reports and other publication initiatives, working closely with the commercial and editorial teams
  4. Build and develop a strong network of freelancer content producers, across text and audio-visual
Skills, attributes and experience:
  1. Minimum of 5 years experience as a commercial content editor or similar
  2. Previous experience in financial services, private markets/investment would be an asset
  3. An adept and adaptable writer and editor
  4. Experience working across text and audio-visual an advantage
  5. Experience managing freelance resources
  6. Ability to build good working relationships across the business and externally
  7. Good awareness of the role of commercial content
  8. Confidence in dealing with clients and in editorial interviews
  9. Ability to understand and explain complex topics
  10. Strong time- and resource-management skills
