Role Summary:This role will manage the commercial life cycle on associated support contracts from inception through to completion, ensuring stakeholders are engaged, progress including schedule, cost and risk is reported on robustly and change is managed effectively.
Function:The Commercial function provides commercial and procurement capability across the programme lifecycle, including strategy (setting the commercial strategy and advising risk allocation underpinning the delivery strategy), delivering procurement activities for the goods and services required to deliver the asset and run EWR Co, and delivering contract management services for the complex network of suppliers supporting EWR Co. Across all three of these domains the commercial function will run governance and reporting to measure compliance and provide commercial assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of commercial compliance, risk, and assurance frameworks, identifying improvements and ensuring updates in line with procurement regulations.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with internal commercial policies and external regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to commercial activities.
  • Independently undertake assurance and provide reports (verbal and written) on the effectiveness of the process outputs and deliverables across the commercial lifecycle. Considering best practice, value for money and regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and control the execution of assurance undertaken balances the need for commercial activity to progress at speed, whilst also allowing new contractual commitments to be developed effectively.
  • Assist and direct external subject matter experts (individual or panel) in the delivery of additional assurance, planning work allocation and reviewing outputs and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Facilitate training and awareness programs on commercial compliance and risk management.
  • Prepare and present reports on commercial compliance and risk management to senior management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated assurance, risk and compliance efforts.
  • Take responsibility of your own and others' health and safety by adopting and working to the EWR Co Health and Safety principles.
  • Demonstrates a cost-conscious mindset, keeping tax payers' money at the forefront of decisions.
  • Shows a commitment to innovation by proactively seeking creative solutions to challenges and opportunities.
  • Act as a role model for EWR Co's vision and behaviours, working in ways that are aligned with EWR Co's Ways of Working, as well as encouraging and supporting others to do so too.
