Job Role:

We are looking for a passionate and driven Commercial Catering Engineer to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our wide range of clients, ensuring the maintenance, repair, and installation of catering equipment across the Cambridgeshire area and beyond.

You will be working with some of the top names in the catering equipment industry, providing first-class solutions to meet our clients’ needs.

Main Responsibilities:

As our Commercial Catering Engineer at B.I. Catering Equipment, your key responsibilities will include:

Preventative Maintenance/Servicing: Carrying out scheduled maintenance on a wide variety of commercial catering equipment, ensuring all systems are in top working order.
Reactive Repairs: Responding quickly and effectively to emergency breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs on-site.
Equipment Installation: Installing and commissioning new catering equipment as per client specifications and safety standards.
Client Interaction: Providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with clients across the Hospitality and Public Sectors.
Record Keeping: Ensuring accurate records of all work completed, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and installations.
Compliance: Adhering to safety regulations and standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Optional Weekend Work: Taking part in weekend shifts on an overtime pay basis as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the catering equipment industry, with a proven track record of working with commercial catering equipment.
• Electrical competency: A solid understanding and hands-on experience with electrical systems in commercial kitchens.
• Plumbing skills: Essential for the maintenance and installation of various catering equipment.
• Experience with major catering equipment manufacturers: Knowledge of ware washing and products from leading brands is highly beneficial.
• COMCAT qualifications: 1,2 and 5 are desirable but not essential—opportunities for training and certification will be provided.
• Full driving license: For use of company van and travel to various sites.
